Steps to Eternal Life

Lesson Four

Your Free
In the religious world there is great confusion about the type of life the newborn Christian will live as he prepares for a place with God throughout eternity. Some believe that the new Christian has no obligation even to think about living a holy life, while others believe the babe in Christ will long to grow in Christian grace as he becomes more and more like his Saviour.
After a recent meeting, a very excited young man confronted me. He said that once he had accepted Christ he could kill 10,000 people and God would still save him. Others say that Christians can steal, curse, commit adultery, hate, and cheat and God will continue to save them.
Jesus seems to have a different opinion. He called the people who followed Him to live holy lives. He never said a man could earn salvation by his works, but He did say that a man's works would show his relationship to God. He said: “Not everyone who calls Me 'Lord, Lord,' will enter into the kingdom of heaven, but only those who do what My Father in heaven wants them to do. When the Judgment Day comes, many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord! In your name we spoke God's message, by your name we drove out many demons and performed many miracles!'
Then I will say to them, 'I never knew you. Get away from me, you wicked people!'” Matthew 7:21-23.
Notice that those who are excluded from the kingdom believe that they are true followers of Christ. They have even performed miracles in the name of Christ. He says that they are not His because they did not do God's will, and calls then “evildoers.” The Bible emphasizes this point when it tells the believers what happens if they deliberately sin after they have known God's will and been purified by the blood of God's covenant. Note: Hebrews 10:26-27: “For there is no longer any sacrifice that will take away sins if we purposely go on sinning after the truth has been made known to us. Instead, all that is left is to be afraid of what will happen: the judgment and the fierce fire which will destroy those who oppose God!”
As a loving heavenly Father, God is anxious to guide His little children and help them live happily. Just as we listened to the advice and guidance of our earthly parents, we will be anxious to let God guide us in our new lives as Christians.

THE BIBLE SAYS

THE BIBLE SAYS

54.Will you open your heart to Him and let Him take control of your life today?

Your answer: Yes No Undecided

God can be trusted to forgive and forget all our sins. Every wrong act, thought, and word will be completely erased. Is not that what you want today?
All you have to do is trust Jesus completely for your salvation. Surrender your will to Him -- just now. When you let Him take control of your life, you receive forgiveness for every sin
you have ever committed. You can stand before God as though you have never sinned.
All of the sins we have committed are charged to Jesus Christ. He takes the blame. By dying on the cross, He paid the price for your sins. When God looks at our records in the books of heaven, He sees only the perfect life of obedience Jesus lived while here on this earth. This perfect life is credited to our accounts. We are all made clean from sin by the offering that He made of His own body, “once and for all”! Hebrews 9:12.
As you by faith receive Christ as your Saviour, you can now know you have eternal life. As long as you leave yourself in the hands of your Lord, you no longer have to worry or fear about your future. The Bible says “The testimony is this: God has given us eternal life, and this life has its source in his Son. Whoever has the Son has this life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” 1 John 5:11,12.
Tell God you want to accept His gift of grace. Tell Him something like this:

“Dear Father: I have sinned and come far short of what You want me to be . I long to be completely forgiven and saved from my sins. I do accept Jesus as my Saviour. I believe that He is Your son and that by His death and the fact that He lives today I am saved. I will to turn over my entire life to Him. Please come into my heart and fill me with Your love. I want to thank You for hearing and answering this prayer, for I pray it in the name of Jesus. Amen.”

I have by faith accepted Jesus as my Saviour.
I know that I have been forgiven.
I will surrender anew each day to His rulership in my life.
